📖 Arabic Language Course
The Arabic Language Course is designed to build strong foundational skills in Arabic reading, writing, and communication. The course starts from the beginner level, covering the Arabic alphabet and basic expressions, and progresses through 8 structured levels (L1–L8). Each level focuses on enhancing vocabulary, grammar, sentence formation, and conversational skills, preparing students to read, understand, and interact in Arabic confidently.
Books Used:
- Beginner Level: Dedicated beginner book introducing the Arabic alphabet, basic pronunciation (Makharij), and simple expressions.
- Levels 1–4: Al-Arabiyya Bayna Yadayk – Book 1 focuses on basic grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary expansion.
- Levels 5–8: Al-Arabiyya Bayna Yadayk – Book 2 covers advanced grammar, reading comprehension, paragraph writing, and conversational skills.
Beginner Level:
Students are introduced to the Arabic alphabet, proper pronunciation, and basic phrases for everyday communication. Emphasis is placed on correct writing and reading skills, including understanding vowel marks (Harakat). This level provides a strong foundation before progressing to advanced grammar and sentence structures in Book 1.
Structured Levels (L1–L8):
- L1: Simple sentences, greetings, self-introduction, basic vocabulary.
- L2: Expanding vocabulary, constructing basic questions and responses, simple grammar rules.
- L3: Understanding sentence types, negation, and short paragraph reading comprehension.
- L4: Introducing verb forms, past and present tense, simple writing exercises.
- L5: Complex sentence structures, prepositions, and extended conversational practice.
- L6: Reading comprehension of short texts, writing short paragraphs, and discussion practice.
- L7: Advanced grammar, intermediate conversation, and writing formal sentences.
- L8: Fluent reading, comprehension, paragraph writing, and conversational mastery. Focus on reading Islamic texts and applying vocabulary and grammar accurately.
Evaluation & Grading:
Students are evaluated throughout the semester based on multiple criteria to ensure comprehensive learning and skill development:
- Class Participation: Active involvement in discussions, answering questions, and engaging in exercises.
- Homework/Assignments: Timely completion of mandatory homework and exercises.
- Oral Exam: Verbal assessment of reading, pronunciation, and comprehension.
- Dictation: Written dictation exercises to test spelling, grammar, and listening skills.
- Final Exam: Covers all aspects of the course including reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension.
- Attendance: Regular attendance is mandatory; minimum attendance requirement must be met to qualify for the final exam.
Each student receives personalized feedback and guidance from the teacher throughout the semester. At the end of each level, students take a final exam assessing reading, writing, comprehension, and oral skills. Students must meet the minimum required score to progress to the next level.
The course ensures students are well-prepared to read and communicate in Arabic, supporting Quranic recitation, memorization, and further Islamic studies.
