🧼 How to Perform Wudu (Ablution)
Wudu is essential before performing Salah, reading the Quran, or entering a mosque. Follow these steps carefully:
1. Niyyah (Intention)
Decide in your heart that you are performing wudu for Salah or other acts of worship. No verbal statement is required.
2. Bismillah
Say: "Bismillah hir-Rahman ir-Rahim" before starting.
3. Washing Hands
- Wash both hands up to the wrists three times, starting with the right hand.
- Ensure water reaches between fingers.
4. Rinsing Mouth
- Take water in the right hand, rinse mouth three times.
- Do not swallow excessively; just rinse and spit.
5. Cleaning the Nose
- Sniff water into the right nostril and blow it out of the left, three times.
6. Washing the Face
- Wash face from forehead to chin and ear to ear three times.
- Ensure water reaches all areas, including hairline and under chin.
7. Washing Arms
- Wash the right arm up to and including the elbow three times, then the left arm.
- Water must cover the entire arm including the elbow.
8. Wiping the Head (Masah)
- Wet hands and wipe over the head from front to back and back to front once.
- Include wiping the ears inside and out using the same wet hands.
9. Washing the Feet
- Wash right foot up to and including the ankle three times, then the left foot.
- Ensure water reaches between the toes and all parts of the foot.
Common Mistakes in Wudu
- Not washing each part the required number of times.
- Missing areas such as between fingers, ears, or under nails.
- Running out of water before completing all steps.
- Not having the proper intention (niyyah).
🕌 How to Perform Salah (Prayer)
Salah is the second pillar of Islam and must be performed with proper steps, concentration, and respect. Below are the detailed steps:
1. Prepare for Prayer
- Perform Wudu (Ablution) correctly.
- Ensure clothing is clean and covers the required parts of the body (Awrah).
- Face the Qiblah (direction of Kaaba).
2. Intention (Niyyah)
Make a silent intention in your heart regarding which prayer you are performing (e.g., Fajr, Dhuhr, etc.).
3. Takbir al-Ihram
- Raise both hands to the ears and say: "Allahu Akbar".
- Hands should then be folded over the chest or navel (depending on school).
4. Recitation
- Recite Surah Al-Fatihah aloud in audible prayers or silently in silent prayers.
- Follow with another Surah or verses from the Quran.
5. Ruku (Bowing)
- Bend at the waist, keeping the back straight, and place hands on knees.
- Say: "Subhana Rabbiyal Adheem" three times.
6. Standing up (Qiyam)
- Return to standing position and say: "Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah", then "Rabbana lakal hamd".
7. Sujud (Prostration)
- Place forehead, nose, palms, knees, and toes on the floor.
- Say: "Subhana Rabbiyal A’la" three times.
- Rise to sitting (Jalsa) and perform second Sujud.
8. Tashahhud
- In the final sitting, recite Tashahhud and Salawat.
- After that, end the prayer with Tasleem (turn head right then left, saying "Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah").
Common Mistakes in Salah
- Improper Wudu or incomplete purification.
- Incorrect posture in Ruku or Sujud.
- Skipping recitations or mispronouncing words.
- Lack of concentration (Khushu’).
- Not completing all Rak’ahs required for the prayer.
